I don’t want what you want.

I did what I was told I was supposed to do. After I finished school, I went to university, got a degree in whateverthefuckhumanitiesbullshit and was ‘lucky’ enough to score a cushy office job before graduation. I was very pleased with myself, and at the thought that with a few years’ hard work I could possibly be on a six figure salary. I could buy a cool car, maybe pay a deposit on a house and get a mortgage. I’d be ‘killing it’ by my friendship circle’s standards. Yes, I was indeed pleased with myself; for about six months.
